Quick Takeaways
  • The 2026 Mack Anthem enters production with a focus on fuel efficiency, maneuverability, and regional-haul performance.
  • The truck features powertrain and aerodynamic upgrades designed for modern Class 8 operations.
On January 13, Mack Trucks announced that production has officially started for the all-new 2026 Mack Anthem, a fully redesigned truck developed specifically for regional-haul applications. The new model emphasizes improved maneuverability and measurable gains in fuel efficiency while maintaining durability for demanding operations.
The 2026 Mack Anthem was officially unveiled on June 25, 2025 and is now being assembled at Mack’s Lehigh Valley Operations facility in Macungie, Pennsylvania. This plant produces all Mack Class 8 vehicles for North American and export markets, supporting the brand’s long-term manufacturing strategy.
Mack has invested approximately USD 405 million over the past decade to support production readiness for the Anthem and other Class 8 models in its portfolio. These investments have focused on manufacturing upgrades, tooling, and process enhancements to support next-generation truck platforms.

Enhanced Maneuverability for Regional Operations

A major differentiator of the 2026 Mack Anthem is its improved maneuverability, designed to meet the needs of regional-haul fleets operating in congested environments. The truck features a reduced bumper-to-back-of-cab length of 113.5 inches, helping drivers navigate tighter loading areas and urban routes more efficiently.

Improved Driver Visibility

The redesigned hood significantly improves forward visibility by allowing drivers to see approximately 12% closer to the front bumper compared with earlier designs. This enhancement supports safer operation during low-speed maneuvers, dock approaches, and urban driving conditions.

Fuel Efficiency and Powertrain Advancements

The new Anthem delivers up to a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency compared with the previous model, achieved through a combination of powertrain upgrades and aerodynamic refinements. These improvements are aimed at reducing operating costs while maintaining performance consistency. At the core of the powertrain is the MP13 engine, producing up to 515 horsepower and 1,950 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with the upgraded mDRIVE automated manual transmission, offered in 12-, 13-, and 14-speed variants, delivering shift speeds that are up to 30% faster to enhance drivability and efficiency across regional-haul duty cycles.
