Dauch Corporation completes Dowlais Group acquisition, unifies GKN Automotive operations

On February 3, Dauch Corporation announced it has completed its previously disclosed acquisition of Dowlais Group plc, including its subsidiaries GKN Automotive and GKN Powder Metallurgy. The transaction brings together organizations with long-standing engineering expertise and global manufacturing scale.
Following completion of the Dauch Corporation acquisition, trading in Dowlais shares was suspended on February 3. The company confirmed that Dowlais will be delisted from the London Stock Exchange effective February 4. Operations of the combined business will now function under a single unified brand identity.

Leadership structure and global footprint following acquisition

As previously announced, the combined company will be led by David C. Dauch as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The organization is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, and operates across 24 countries with more than 175 manufacturing and engineering locations. The company also confirmed that it officially changed its name from American Axle & Manufacturing on January 23. The name change reflects its broader global presence and diversified automotive technology portfolio following the Dauch Corporation acquisition. The integration positions the company to serve global automakers with expanded technical capabilities while maintaining a unified operating structure aligned with future mobility trends.
