Quick Takeaways
  • Renault Captur Eco-G 120 strengthens Renault’s low-emission LPG strategy with higher power and extended range.
  • The updated Captur range also receives new driver assistance and digital features for improved everyday usability.
On February 3, Renault expanded its powertrain portfolio with the introduction of the Renault Captur Eco-G 120, a new LPG-based option designed to combine improved performance with lower emissions. The model records CO₂ emissions of just 117 g per km, reinforcing Renault’s focus on accessible, fuel-efficient mobility solutions.

Renault Captur Eco-G 120 powertrain overview

The Renault Captur Eco-G 120 is built around a flex-fuel gasoline and LPG configuration derived from the TCe 115 1.2-litre HR12 engine. This three-cylinder, turbocharged, direct-injection unit has been recalibrated to deliver higher output while maintaining efficiency across both fuel modes. The upgraded powertrain produces 120 hp, representing a 20 hp increase over the previous specification. Maximum torque has also been raised to 200 Nm, up by 30 Nm, improving responsiveness and drivability in everyday conditions.

Transmission and performance enhancements

The Eco-G 120 configuration is offered exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox. The revised calibration ensures smooth power delivery in LPG mode, supporting consistent performance without compromising fuel economy or emissions targets.

Extended driving range and lower emissions

A key update in the Renault Captur Eco-G 120 is the increase in LPG tank capacity. The tank has been expanded by 25 percent, growing from 40 litres to 50 litres. When combined with the 48-litre petrol tank, the total driving range reaches up to 1,400 km. In LPG mode, the Captur Eco-G 120 emits around 10 percent less CO₂ on average compared to an equivalent gasoline-only engine. This positions the model as a practical option for customers seeking reduced running emissions without moving to full electrification.

Pricing and range-wide updates

The Renault Captur Eco-G 120 is priced from EUR 26,400 in the Evolution Eco-G 120 hp variant. Alongside the new powertrain, Renault has introduced additional updates across the Captur and Symbioz ranges. These enhancements include new rearview mirrors, upgraded driving assistance systems, expanded Park Assist functions, digital camera systems, and intelligent driving modes. Together, these changes aim to improve safety, convenience, and overall driving comfort while complementing the efficiency gains delivered by the new LPG engine.
