Quick Takeaways
  • By-wire chassis technology for commercial vehicles achieves a major breakthrough with sub-300ms response and high scenario coverage.
  • The innovation strengthens China’s autonomous intelligent chassis capabilities for medium and heavy-duty CVs.
On January 28, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co., Ltd. (DFLZM) announced that a key by-wire chassis technology for commercial vehicles developed in collaboration with Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET) was selected as one of Guangxi’s 2025 major technological innovation achievements. The recognition highlights progress in intelligent connected commercial vehicle engineering.

Collaborative development of intelligent by-wire chassis systems

Through joint technology development, DFLZM and GUET established China’s first key control technology model, method, and system designed for deep integration of road conditions and real-world usage scenarios. The solution is built around intelligent connected commercial vehicles operating under complex electronic control strategies.

Integration of road conditions and usage scenarios

The jointly developed system enables rapid and accurate calibration of electronically controlled chassis parameters. By combining road data, vehicle behavior, and scenario-based algorithms, the technology supports consistent performance tuning across diverse operating environments common to medium and heavy-duty CVs.

Performance metrics and engineering outcomes

The achievement delivers measurable improvements in vehicle control and manufacturing efficiency, supporting scalable deployment in commercial vehicle platforms. Key technical indicators achieved through the by-wire control system include:
  • Vehicle control stability parameter reduced to below 0.3 m
  • Response and execution time controlled within 300 ms
  • Manufacturing, assembly, and write times shortened by 70%
  • Correct coverage rate of test conditions and scenarios reaching 92%
These metrics demonstrate the maturity of the electronic control chassis system and its readiness for practical commercial vehicle applications.

Impact on industry autonomy and logistics efficiency

This achievement has broken foreign technological monopoly, established an autonomous and controllable intelligent chassis technology system, promoted the in-depth integration of CV electrification and intelligentization, and provided the logistics industry with technical support in cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
