Ford Almussafes Plant Production Stoppages Scheduled for February and March 2026

On January 29, multiple sources confirmed that Ford Almussafes plant production stoppages will take place across February and March 2026, following the application of a temporary employment regulation file under the RED mechanism. The measures will result in several full-scale shutdowns affecting both engine and vehicle manufacturing operations at the Spanish facility.

February 2026 production stoppages at Ford Almussafes plant

During February, adjustments have been made to the initially planned ERTE calendar for engine operations. The previously scheduled ERTE day on February 20 has been withdrawn for the engine unit, with production instead suspended on four alternative dates spread across the month.

Engine production shutdown schedule

Engine manufacturing activities will be halted on February 2, 9, 16, and 27, 2026. These stoppages form part of the broader ERTE framework aimed at temporarily regulating employment levels while aligning output with demand conditions.

Vehicle production stoppage plan

Vehicle production will also stop on the same four days as engine operations. In addition, further shutdown periods are scheduled from February 3 to 6 and from February 17 to 20, 2026, resulting in extended pauses in vehicle assembly during the month.

March 2026 ERTE-related shutdowns

In March, Ford Almussafes plant production stoppages will continue, with multiple dates designated as full plant shutdowns under the ERTE measures. These stoppages will simultaneously affect engine and vehicle manufacturing lines.

Engine and full plant shutdown dates

Engine production will cease on March 16, 17, 20, and 30, 2026. These dates coincide with complete plant shutdowns, reflecting the ongoing application of ERTE measures across the facility.

Additional vehicle production stoppages

Beyond the full shutdown days, vehicle production will also be halted on March 9, 12, 23, and 31, 2026. These staggered stoppages further underline the scale of operational adjustments planned for March as part of Ford’s workforce and production management strategy in Spain.
