Quick Takeaways
  • BYD Brazil direct sales strategy is rapidly reshaping the company’s market position and accelerating volume growth.
  • The approach has strengthened BYD’s reach among small businesses and boosted local production momentum.
On January 22, BYD Brazil announced that its direct sales strategy has quickly established itself as a central growth driver, delivering 5,378 vehicle sales through this channel in December 2025. This performance marked a 324% increase compared with August, highlighting the rapid adoption of the model across the country.

Expansion of Direct Sales Across Brazil

The nationwide rollout of the direct sales strategy in October significantly broadened BYD’s footprint among small and medium-sized businesses. In December alone, close to 4,000 units were registered under this channel, underlining the effectiveness of the approach in attracting fleet and corporate buyers.

Dedicated Models Supporting the Strategy

The strong results were driven by dedicated direct-sales variants, including the Dolphin Mini GL, King GL, and Song Pro GL. These versions are produced locally at BYD’s Camaçari facility in Bahia, reinforcing the company’s focus on localized manufacturing and faster market response.

Rising Contribution to Overall Sales

According to the automaker, direct sales accounted for around 30% of total volumes in December. This represents a sharp jump from the roughly 10% share recorded before the strategy was introduced, reflecting a structural shift in BYD’s sales mix.

Outlook for 2026

BYD expects the contribution of direct sales to climb further, projecting that the channel could represent as much as 50% of total volumes in 2026. This outlook underscores the company’s confidence in the sustainability of the model and its appeal to business customers.

Strong Annual Performance and Market Position

In 2025, BYD sold 111,683 vehicles in Brazil, representing growth of 522% compared with 2023. December registrations reached 15,658 units, a level that placed the automaker among the country’s top five automotive brands by volume.

Production Momentum at Camaçari

The company also confirmed that more than 20,000 vehicles were produced at the Camaçari plant within just three months of operations beginning. With additional models scheduled to be added to the assembly line, the facility is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting BYD’s expansion plans in Brazil.
