On January 27, CAERI (Zhejiang) Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. was formally established as a 60:40 joint venture between China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Geely Automobile Research Institute (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., marking a significant step for the CAERI Geely joint venture in advancing automotive R&D capabilities.
The newly formed company has a registered capital of CNY 80 million and is positioned to support a broad spectrum of automotive engineering and technology development activities. Its formation reflects the growing demand for integrated R&D and validation services within China’s rapidly evolving automotive sector.
The business scope of CAERI (Zhejiang) Automotive Technology covers research and experimental development of engineering technologies, with a strong emphasis on automotive R&D China requirements. This includes the development and testing of automotive parts, enabling faster validation cycles and higher technical reliability.
In addition to hardware-focused activities, the company is also engaged in software development and information system integration services. These capabilities are increasingly critical as vehicles become more software-defined and connected, requiring seamless integration between mechanical systems and digital platforms.
It is reported that CAERI has already deployed a comprehensive testing service platform in Ningbo designed to meet R&D and verification requirements across all vehicle categories. This platform supports complete vehicle testing, subsystem validation, and engineering analysis for multiple automotive applications.
