The model is positioned as the world’s first new-energy intercity sleeper bus, targeting Vietnam and broader Southeast Asian markets where long-distance bus travel remains dominant.
Once operational, the Kim Long Motor BYD battery factory is expected to help the company exceed 80% localization by Q2 2026. The project also supports the creation of a regional hub for battery and electric vehicle manufacturing, reinforcing Vietnam’s role in the evolving Southeast Asian EV ecosystem.

- Phase 2 will expand the facility’s total capacity to 6 GWh per year, further scaling battery availability as demand for electric commercial vehicles rises across Vietnam and Southeast Asia. This phased approach allows gradual capacity ramp-up while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
