  • The Deepal S05 combines long electric range, fast charging, and advanced safety in a locally built package.
On January 26, 2026, Master Changan Motors announced the start of deliveries for Pakistan’s first locally assembled range-extended electric vehicle SUV, the Deepal S05. The introductory price has been set at PKR 9,999,000, marking a key milestone for local electrified vehicle manufacturing.
The company confirmed that production setup at its Karachi facility was completed in under 90 days, supported by advanced robotics and precision manufacturing processes. This rapid localization reflects a focused push to strengthen domestic EV capabilities while meeting rising demand for efficient electrified mobility.
Powertrain and Electric Range Capabilities
The Master Changan Motors Deepal S05 is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 215 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, 16-valve VVT range extender engine delivering 94 hp and 122 Nm, designed to support long-distance driving without range anxiety.
Energy is supplied by a 27.28 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate Golden Shield Battery, enabling up to 170 km of pure electric driving. With the range extender engaged, the total driving range exceeds 1,000 km, positioning the vehicle competitively within the Pakistan REEV SUV segment.
Charging, Technology, and Interior Features
The SUV supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. This capability enhances everyday usability and aligns with evolving charging infrastructure in the country.
Key technology and convenience features include:
  • 15.4-inch central touchscreen interface
  • Augmented reality head-up display with navigation
  • 6.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load power supply for external devices
These features are aimed at improving both driver engagement and practical utility.
Safety, Chassis, and Local Assembly Timeline
Safety equipment on the Master Changan Motors Deepal S05 includes six airbags, a 360-degree around-view camera with driver video recorder, and a comprehensive Level 2 advanced driver assistance system suite. The vehicle uses McPherson struts at the front and a multi-link independent rear suspension, complemented by ventilated disc brakes for stable and confident braking performance.
Local assembly of the Deepal S05 began in November 2025, following its debut at the Pakistan Auto Parts Show 2025. With deliveries now underway, the model represents a significant step in expanding locally manufactured electric and range-extended vehicles in Pakistan’s automotive market.
