On January 25, Dongfeng Motor Corporation announced the commissioning of the D600 Intelligent Plant of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. in Shiyan, Hubei, marking a major milestone in intelligent commercial vehicle manufacturing.
The Dongfeng Motor intelligent plant is the world’s largest single intelligent facility for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. With an annual production capacity of 260,000 units and an annual output value of CNY 6 billion, the plant enables highly coordinated operations across 288 robots. It also houses China’s first commercial vehicle roof lid laser welding line.

Welding and painting processes at the Dongfeng Motor intelligent plant are fully automated. Advanced technologies such as Digital Twin systems and AI-based quality inspection are deeply integrated into production, delivering around 30% higher efficiency compared with conventional commercial vehicle plants.
Tianlong KH Enters Mass Production
At the same time, the Tianlong KH tractor, the first model developed on the D600 next-generation strategic platform, rolled off the production line and entered mass production. This launch highlights the plant’s readiness for scalable, next-generation vehicle programs.
Advanced Powertrain and Connectivity Features
The Tianlong KH is equipped with a Cummins power chain, an Endurant automated mechanical transmission, and a Dongfeng Dana rear axle. It also features a sixth-generation intelligent connectivity platform, a remote management system, an OTA update system, and an iFlytek customized speech system, reinforcing Dongfeng’s focus on smart, connected commercial vehicles.
