Quick Takeaways
  • Kia Vision Meta Turismo electric car signals a potential shift beyond SUVs in Kia’s EV strategy.
  • Kia’s completed EV line-up allows focus on next-generation electric vehicle design.
On December 2025, Kia unveiled the Vision Meta Turismo concept, a sleek four-door GT that previews a possible new direction for the brand’s electric future. The Kia Vision Meta Turismo electric car highlights Kia’s intent to explore body styles beyond traditional SUVs and crossovers as it prepares its next generation of EVs.
Kia EV Line-Up Completion Opens Door for New Concepts
With the reveal of the EV2 in early 2026, Kia’s electric portfolio now spans EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9. According to Oliver Samson, this completes Kia’s current EV range and places the company in a rare position within the industry.
Speaking to Autocar UK, Samson said this milestone allows Kia to shift its attention toward next-generation electric vehicles without being constrained by existing design templates.
Kia Vision Meta Turismo Electric Car Reflects Design Freedom
The Kia Vision Meta Turismo electric car serves as a design experiment that blends elements of a sedan and an SUV while introducing a GT-style silhouette. Samson explained that each new project starts without referencing past designs, stating, “We’re always looking for something new, so every time we start a project, we don’t say ‘Okay, the car should look like something we’ve done before.’”
He added, “If we find something new, progressive and fitting for Kia, we’d consider adding it to the family.”
Interior Rethinks the Passenger Experience
Inside, the concept challenges conventional cabin layouts with a reimagined seating arrangement. Samson questioned traditional norms by saying, “Why do the driver and co-driver have to sit in the same way? If the driver is doing something totally different, why should the passenger’s experience be the same?”
This approach reflects Kia’s broader exploration of how future electric vehicles can deliver differentiated experiences for occupants.
Production Decision Hinges on Customer Feedback
While Kia has not confirmed production, the Vision Meta Turismo remains under active evaluation. The company is closely monitoring public and customer reactions before committing to a production-spec model.
Samson said, “We’re really looking into having a dialogue with our consumers to make sure that we are not designing something completely off. We’re looking for their reaction: is that in line with what you expect from Kia?”
If feedback aligns with expectations, the Kia Vision Meta Turismo electric car could evolve into a production model positioned between the EV6 and EV9, potentially wearing the EV7 or EV8 badge and expanding Kia’s electric portfolio beyond its current SUV-focused range.
