Kia India Sonet 5 Lakh Sales Driven by Strong Domestic Demand
The Sonet currently contributes nearly 35% of Kia India’s domestic sales volume, making it one of the brand’s most significant models. The SUV has maintained steady momentum, recording annual sales of over 1 lakh units for two consecutive years, even amid evolving consumer expectations and intense segment competition.
Customer demand has increasingly shifted toward higher-spec variants, reflecting a preference for premium interiors, advanced connectivity, and feature-rich configurations. This trend highlights the growing importance of connected mobility and value-added technology in India’s subcompact SUV category.

Beyond the Indian market, the Sonet has established a strong international footprint. The model has been exported to nearly 70 countries, including markets across the Middle East and Africa, Central and South America, Mexico, and the Asia-Pacific region. International shipments have crossed 100,000 units, reinforcing the Sonet’s global appeal.
All export and domestic units are produced at Kia’s Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, supporting the company’s “Make in India, for the World” manufacturing approach. The plant plays a central role in Kia India’s production and export strategy.
