Royal Enfield Sales Trend Shows Strong Post-Pandemic Recovery
A review of Royal Enfield’s wholesale performance over the last 13 years shows that 2025 became the third consecutive year with sales above 8,00,000 units. After first reaching that level in 2018 with 8,37,669 units, volumes dipped sharply to 6,90,913 units in 2019 and further to 5,38,889 units in the pandemic-affected year of 2020.
The recovery phase began with renewed momentum from fresh model launches and a revival in premium motorcycle demand. Sales climbed 28 percent in 2022 to 7,03,156 units, rose another 17 percent to 8,22,295 units in 2023, increased 4 percent in 2024, and then surged to a new peak in 2025.

In 2025, Royal Enfield’s monthly dispatches crossed 1,00,000 units for three consecutive months between August and October. October emerged as the company’s strongest month, with wholesales touching 1,16,844 units.
The manufacturer also moved early in the Indian automobile industry by passing on the full benefits of the GST 2.0 rate reduction to customers. Prices of its high-volume 350cc motorcycles were reduced by up to Rs 22,000, strengthening demand in its core segment. The Classic 350 continued as the brand’s bestseller, contributing 37 percent of motorcycles sold in its class during April–December 2025.
Royal Enfield Dominance Across the 350–650cc Segments
Royal Enfield’s strength in the midsize category is led by its 350cc portfolio. According to industry wholesales data from SIAM for April–December 2025, the company’s sales rose 26 percent year on year to 8,21,908 units.
Within the 250–350cc segment, Royal Enfield sold 7,58,458 motorcycles, a 29 percent increase, giving it a commanding 95 percent share of total domestic sales of 8,01,250 units. Among its five models, the Classic 350 led with a 40 percent share, followed by the Bullet 350 at 25 percent, while the Hunter 350 and Meteor 350 together accounted for the remaining 35 percent.
In the 350–500cc category, combined sales of the Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan 450 stood at 27,517 units, down 7 percent year on year. This translated into a 28 percent market share, behind segment leader Bajaj Auto, which recorded 58,050 units and a 60 percent share. Hero MotoCorp followed with 9,152 units and a 9 percent share.
Royal Enfield also maintained near-total control of the 500–800cc segment. Between April and December 2025, dispatches of its 650cc motorcycles reached 35,843 units, up 5 percent year on year, translating into a 97 percent share of total segment volumes of 37,071 units. The remaining sales were distributed among other manufacturers including Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph, Suzuki, and Piaggio.
With average monthly sales of 91,323 units during April–December 2025, Royal Enfield appears firmly on track to surpass one million domestic sales in FY2026 for the first time. The company is also poised to post its highest-ever export volumes in a financial year, building on the momentum that previously took total sales to 10,09,899 units in FY2025 through combined domestic and export performance.
