The new hub is positioned a few miles from the historic Glass House, which has served as Ford’s headquarters since 1956 and is scheduled for demolition following the transition.
Michigan Central’s role in Ford’s future operations
Michigan Central, a former train depot in Detroit, was officially opened by Ford in 2024 after being acquired in 2018 and fully renovated. The building now features office, retail, and event spaces and has recently hosted several large-scale events, reinforcing its role as a central location for Ford’s evolving corporate and brand operations.
By placing Lincoln’s core teams at Michigan Central, Ford continues to consolidate its strategic functions while preserving the historic significance of one of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks.
