Quick Takeaways
  • Mexico auto parts industry INA data points to late-2025 stabilization and rising US market share.
  • Exports and production trends reinforce Mexico’s growing role in the North American automotive supply chain.
On January 13, reports citing data from the Industria Nacional de Autopartes indicated that the Mexico auto parts industry INA experienced signs of stabilization toward the end of 2025, following a challenging year marked by softer production trends.
Production during the January–October period reached USD 99.8 billion. October emerged as the strongest month of the year, with output valued at USD 10.6 billion, even as cumulative production for the period showed a decline of 3.7%, highlighting a gradual recovery rather than a sharp rebound.
Mexico Auto Parts Industry INA Strengthens US Market Position
Mexico further consolidated its presence in the US auto parts market. In October, its market share climbed to a record 46.2%, while the year-to-date share stood at 43.8%, reflecting consistent competitiveness among North American suppliers.
Exports totaled USD 86.8 billion during the period, while imports reached USD 56.9 billion. This gap generated a trade surplus of nearly USD 29.9 billion, underlining the export-driven nature of the Mexico auto parts industry INA and its importance to regional manufacturing flows.
Electrical Components Lead Production Mix
Electrical components represented the largest share of total production. This dominance underscores Mexico’s specialization in critical vehicle systems that support electrification, connectivity, and advanced vehicle functionality across multiple platforms.
Key production highlights include:
  • Strong contribution from electrical and electronic components
  • Continued focus on high-value vehicle systems
  • Alignment with evolving OEM requirements in North America

Outlook Supported by US Vehicle Sales Recovery
According to INA, recovering vehicle sales in the United States helped stabilize demand toward the end of 2025. This improvement has lifted expectations for 2026, reinforcing Mexico’s position as a core pillar within the North American automotive supply chain and a key contributor to regional production resilience.
