Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recalls two of its premium motorcycles in India, the CBR650R and the CB1000 Hornet SP, for separate technical concerns. The company has initiated the recall process to ensure regulatory compliance and long-term reliability for affected customers across its BigWing network.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recalls CBR650R over wiring concern
The CBR650R has been recalled after Honda identified a potential issue in the turn indicator wiring assembly. According to the company, in certain units, a wiring part may come into contact with a metal component, and prolonged vibration could result in a short circuit.
Honda stated that this condition could cause some lights to stop functioning, which does not meet regulatory requirements. Motorcycles manufactured between December 16, 2024, and May 04, 2025, may be impacted by this issue.
CB1000 Hornet SP recalled for oil consumption variation
Separately, Honda has issued a recall for the CB1000 Hornet SP due to concerns related to oil consumption. The company explained that in some motorcycles, oil consumption may vary because of specific part-related conditions.
Honda added that if engine oil levels are not checked at regular intervals, changes in oil pressure could affect normal engine operation. CB1000 Hornet SP units manufactured between September 30, 2024, and August 22, 2025, could fall under this recall campaign.
Inspection and repairs to be carried out free of cost
Owners of the affected motorcycles can verify whether their vehicle is part of the recall by checking the Vehicle Identification Number. If eligible, customers are advised to visit their nearest authorised BigWing dealership.
Honda has confirmed that inspection and replacement of required parts will be carried out free of charge, regardless of the motorcycle’s warranty status. Both the CBR650R and CB1000 Hornet SP are powered by inline-four engines of different capacities, positioning them among Honda’s key premium offerings in India.
