Quick Takeaways
  • Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solutions accelerates next-generation intelligent driving innovation
  • Qiankun Intelligent Driving upgrades strengthen safety, automation, and vehicle intelligence
On Jan. 16, Huawei Intelligent Automotive Solutions confirmed its next phase of intelligent mobility development, announcing plans to introduce Qiankun ADS 5, HarmonySpace 6, and a next-generation digital chassis engine XMC in 2026. Detailed technical specifications will be released ahead of the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.
Alongside future product announcements, the company has already begun the phased deployment of Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4.1 across vehicles within its HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility lineup. This rollout marks a significant step in advancing intelligent driving reliability, safety, and real-world usability.
Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4.1 enhances active safety
According to the company, ADS 4.1 introduces multiple safety-focused upgrades designed to improve vehicle response in complex traffic environments.
  • The system adds eAES anti-sandwich functionality, enabling predictive detection of rear-approaching risks to reduce the likelihood of rear-end collisions.
  • Enhanced eAES performance further strengthens protection across varying weather and road conditions.
  • Driver assistance accuracy has been improved for sharp turns and intersections, delivering smoother and more predictable vehicle behavior in high-risk scenarios.

Emergency handling and driver monitoring capabilities improve
The updated system also expands emergency response capabilities.
  • If a driver suddenly becomes incapacitated, the vehicle can safely pull over and automatically initiate a call for assistance.
  • Hands-off detection has been upgraded to real-time warnings, triggering a controlled stop if alerts are ignored.
  • In extreme situations, including tire blowouts, the system is designed to maintain vehicle stability, reinforcing safety during unexpected mechanical failures and high-speed incidents.

New display and sensor hardware debut on flagship models
Huawei also confirmed that a new LCoS dual-focal plane AR-HUD will debut on the updated AITO M9, enhancing visual clarity and driving information delivery. In parallel, new sensor hardware is scheduled for launch on both the AITO M9 and the Zunjie S800, supporting higher perception accuracy and system responsiveness.
Qiankun Intelligent Driving R&D investment reaches scale
Separately, Li Wenguang, president of Huawei's Intelligent Driving Solution product line, disclosed that cumulative R&D investment in Qiankun Intelligent Driving has reached 50 billion yuan. As of Dec. 31, 2025, the system has been installed in 1.4 million vehicles, highlighting its growing adoption across intelligent mobility platforms and reinforcing Huawei’s long-term commitment to automotive innovation.
