Currently, CEAT operates with an installed tire manufacturing capacity of 9.5 million units. Utilization levels stand at around 80% of this capacity, indicating limited headroom to absorb incremental market demand without expansion.
With this new investment, the company plans to add an additional 3.5 million tires to its overall capacity. The expansion will be executed in phases, allowing CEAT to progressively align output with evolving market requirements and minimize operational disruption.
Capacity Expansion Timeline and Strategic Outlook
The entire expansion project is scheduled for completion by the end of the first half of FY 2028, corresponding to the financial year ending March 2028. This phased approach provides flexibility in capital deployment and ensures readiness as demand scales up.
