Powertrain Trends in the Turkey Passenger Vehicle Market
Shifts in powertrain preferences became more pronounced in the Turkey passenger vehicle market during 2025. Conventional internal combustion engine vehicles declined, while electrified options expanded rapidly, reshaping overall market composition.
Gasoline-powered passenger vehicles declined by 13.9% to 509,217 units, accounting for 47.0% of total sales. Diesel vehicles fell more sharply, decreasing 16.3% to 80,346 units with a 7.4% share.
In contrast, hybrid vehicles, including PHEVs and MHEVs, surged by 62.7% to 295,378 units, capturing 27.2% of the market. EV sales in Turkey, including range extender EVs, rose sharply by 82.3% to 191,960 units, lifting their share to 17.7%.

Turkey’s vehicle production reached 1,419,464 units in 2025, reflecting a 4.0% year-on-year increase and underscoring the country’s stable manufacturing base. On the trade front, vehicle imports grew 11.8% to 999,003 units, while vehicle exports increased 4.4% to 1,057,920 units, supporting Turkey’s continued role in regional automotive supply chains.
