Quick Takeaways
  • Honda 0 Series Saloon EV production timeline officially revised by Honda.
  • Strategic EV rollout continues in Ohio with two models still planned for 2026.
On January 14, Honda representatives confirmed that production of the Honda 0 Series Saloon EV at its Marysville, Ohio facility has been postponed to 2027. The update signals a revision to Honda’s earlier electrification roadmap while maintaining momentum for other electric models planned under the same platform.
Honda had previously announced the launch of three electric vehicles based on its new 0 Series platform in 2026. These included the Acura RSX, the Honda 0 Series SUV, and the Honda 0 Series Saloon EV. While two of these models remain aligned with the original timeline, the saloon will now arrive a year later.
Honda 0 Series Platform Rollout Remains Largely On Track
According to Honda, the revised sequence will see the Acura RSX reach the market first in the second half of 2026. The Honda 0 Series SUV is expected to follow later in the same year, while the Honda 0 Series Saloon EV has been rescheduled for a 2027 launch.
The update was shared by American Honda’s Assistant Vice President of Communications during discussions at the Japan Mobility Show. The company noted that this information had not yet been widely communicated, even as some public-facing materials continue to reference a 2026 arrival for both SUV and saloon variants.
Ohio EV Hub Supports Honda’s Electric Vehicle Strategy
Honda’s EV manufacturing operations in Ohio form a tightly integrated production network. The EV hub includes the Marysville Auto Plant, the East Liberty Plant, and the Anna Engine Plant, each playing a defined role in electric vehicle production.
Key responsibilities across the facilities include:
  • Assembly of EV battery modules and control hardware at Marysville
  • EV battery pack assembly supporting both Marysville and East Liberty plants
  • Megacasting of aluminum EV battery cases at Anna Engine Plant
  • Final integration of battery systems for electric models built in Ohio

Battery cells for these vehicles are supplied by a nearby joint venture facility operated with LG Energy Solution in Jeffersonville, Ohio. This localized supply chain is designed to support scale, efficiency, and long-term EV production growth.
Despite the Honda 0 Series Saloon EV delay, the broader electrification strategy remains intact. Honda continues to advance its Ohio-based EV ecosystem, positioning the region as a central pillar in its transition toward a fully electric future.
