  • The new variant strengthens competition in the compact SUV segment with added features and safety.
On January 16, 2026, Kia India announced the introduction of the Kia India Syros HTK(EX) to its Syros SUV lineup, responding to evolving customer expectations in the compact SUV segment. The new variant is priced at ₹9,89,000 for the petrol version and ₹10,63,900 for the diesel version, both ex-showroom, positioning it competitively below the ₹10 lakh mark.
With the launch of the Kia India Syros HTK(EX), the total number of Syros trims increases to seven. The company stated that the decision was driven by customer feedback and market demand for enhanced features at accessible price points, reinforcing Kia India’s focus on value-driven offerings.
Kia India Syros HTK(EX) Features and Equipment
Based on the existing HTK(O) trim, the Kia India Syros HTK(EX) adds several premium elements aimed at improving everyday usability and visual appeal. Key exterior and interior highlights include:
  • LED daytime running lights, headlamps, and taillamps
  • 16-inch alloy wheels
  • Electric sunroof
  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Electrically adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors
  • Rear parking camera with sensors

These additions enhance the feature-to-price ratio compared to other trims in the segment.
Kia India Syros HTK(EX) Safety and Platform
Safety remains a core focus of the Kia India Syros HTK(EX). The variant continues with 20 standard safety features, including:
  • Six airbags
  • ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution
  • Electronic Stability Control
  • Hill Start Assist
  • Vehicle Stability Management

The Syros has achieved a 5-star rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program, underlining its strong safety credentials. The model is built on Kia’s reinforced K1 platform and follows the brand’s “Opposites United” design philosophy.
Powertrain Options and Segment Positioning
The Kia India Syros HTK(EX) is offered with both petrol and diesel powertrains, a combination not universally available among key competitors. Rival models in this segment include the Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Nissan Magnite, many of which emphasize petrol-only lineups at similar price points.
At around ₹10 lakh, the Syros HTK(EX) competes with mid-level trims from these manufacturers. Its larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and availability of an electric sunroof provide a differentiation advantage, as such features are not standard across all competing models.
Safety comparisons within the segment vary due to different testing protocols. While the Syros holds a 5-star BNCAP rating, other competitors have been assessed under Global NCAP standards with differing outcomes. Despite this, core safety features such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control are now widely offered across the segment.
Kia India continues to support its growing product portfolio through its manufacturing facility in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh, which has an annual capacity of 300,000 units. Since operations began, the plant has dispatched around 1.5 million vehicles, with a strong mix of domestic sales and exports. The company currently sells nine models in India and operates 821 touchpoints across 369 cities, with more than 495,000 connected cars on Indian roads.
