Quick Takeaways
  • MG Majestor launch confirms MG’s flagship full-size SUV strategy in India.
  • The upcoming model targets established premium SUV rivals with design and diesel performance focus.
On February 12, 2026, the MG Majestor will be officially launched in India as the brand’s flagship full-size SUV. First revealed at Auto Expo 2025, the MG Majestor has since been spotted multiple times during road testing, indicating that the production-ready version is nearing completion for the Indian market.
MG Majestor Design Inspired by Maxus D90
The MG Majestor takes strong design cues from the Maxus D90 sold in global markets such as China and Saudi Arabia. At the front, the SUV features a large grille finished in gloss-black elements, giving it a bold and upright stance. Vertically stacked LED headlamps sit beside the grille, complemented by slim eyebrow-style LED DRLs positioned above.
The front bumper incorporates rugged black cladding with silver accents in the centre, reinforcing the MG Majestor’s tough SUV character. This cladding theme continues along the wheel arches and lower body sections, enhancing its road presence.
Key exterior highlights include:
  • Dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels similar to those on the Gloster
  • Blacked-out door handles and roof rails
  • Connected LED tail-lamps at the rear
  • Black rear bumper with faux silver skid plate
  • Twin exhaust outlets, one on each side

MG Majestor Interior and Features Expectations
Although the MG Majestor’s cabin was not displayed at Auto Expo 2025, spy images of a test mule suggest an interior layout closely resembling the Maxus D90. The India-spec model is expected to feature a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system paired with a similarly sized digital driver display.
Other anticipated interior elements include a three-spoke steering wheel and a column-mounted drive selector stalk. Positioned above the Gloster in MG’s lineup, the Majestor is likely to offer additional premium features beyond what is currently available.
For reference, the Gloster already offers:
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Three-zone automatic climate control
  • Wireless phone charging
  • 12-speaker audio system
  • Powered tailgate
  • Heated and powered front seats with driver seat massage function

MG Majestor Powertrain and Performance
The MG Majestor is expected to share its powertrain with the Gloster, using a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This unit delivers 216 hp and 479 Nm of torque in its current specification. Power is transmitted via an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, with drive sent to all four wheels through a 4WD system.
In international markets, the same engine in the Maxus D90 produces an increased torque output of 500 Nm. However, the India-spec MG Majestor is likely to retain the existing Gloster tune for reliability and compliance.
MG Majestor Price Positioning and Rivals
The MG Majestor is expected to be priced above the Gloster, which currently retails between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 42.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). With this positioning, the Majestor will compete directly with established premium SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq.
With its aggressive styling, feature-rich cabin, and proven diesel powertrain, the MG Majestor aims to strengthen MG’s presence in the premium full-size SUV segment and appeal to buyers seeking a bold alternative to existing market leaders.
