Northern Graphite Battery Anode Materials project in Saudi Arabia gains momentum

On January 14, Northern Graphite Corporation and Al Obeikan Group for Investment Company entered into a term sheet to establish and run a large-scale Northern Graphite Battery Anode Materials production facility in Yanbu Industrial City, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through a joint venture in which Obeikan will hold a 51 percent stake.
The partnership is designed to create a strategically located manufacturing base for graphite anode materials, supporting battery makers that are actively seeking diversified supply chains beyond China. The joint venture structure reflects both industrial and regional investment alignment.

The agreement defines the development of a Battery Anode Material plant valued at about USD 200 million, with an initial output capacity of 25,000 tonnes per year. The facility will be engineered to scale over time as global demand for electric vehicle and energy-storage batteries continues to rise.
