BYD Brazil Song Plus PHEV local production was confirmed as the company announced that the popular plug-in hybrid SUV will be manufactured at its Camaçari industrial complex starting in 2026. The move strengthens BYD’s commitment to the Brazilian automotive market and supports its plan to localize its most successful models.
The Song Plus will roll out with the same technical specifications as the version currently sold in Brazil. It will become the fourth model assembled at the Camaçari plant, joining BYD’s growing local portfolio.

The Camaçari facility is at the core of BYD’s Latin American manufacturing ambitions. Local assembly of the Song Plus supports the company’s long-term goal of turning Brazil into a major regional production hub for electrified vehicles.
Even though the Song Plus has been phased out in the Chinese domestic market, BYD confirmed that it will continue to be offered internationally, with Brazil being a key focus for the model.
Strong investment backing BYD Brazil Song Plus PHEV local production
BYD has already invested more than BRL 3 billion in the current phase of development at the Camaçari complex, out of a planned BRL 5.5 billion. Additional investments are also being evaluated as part of the company’s long-term roadmap.
Once fully developed, the plant is expected to reach an annual production capacity of up to 600,000 vehicles, positioning BYD among the most significant automotive manufacturers operating in Brazil and reinforcing the country’s role in BYD’s global expansion strategy.
