Quick Takeaways
- Renault is positioning the Filante as a globally produced hybrid SUV to scale its mid-size crossover footprint across Asia, Latin America, and the Gulf.
- The model blends Alliance platform engineering, dual-motor hybrid powertrain, and a fully digital cockpit to raise Renault’s technology profile.
On January 13, Renault officially introduced the Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover as a core product under its International Game Plan 2027. The new model will be produced at Renault’s Busan manufacturing facility in South Korea and is positioned to strengthen the brand’s global mid-size crossover portfolio.
Sales of the Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover will begin in South Korea in March 2026, followed by a phased rollout across selected Latin American markets including Colombia, Chile, and Uruguay. Renault plans to expand availability to Gulf region countries in early 2027 as part of its global market penetration strategy.
Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover Built on CMF-C/D Platform
The Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover is developed on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s CMF-C/D architecture, a platform known for balancing ride comfort, structural rigidity, and electrification compatibility. The crossover measures 4,915 mm in length with a 2,820 mm wheelbase, giving it a long and stable stance.
With a height of 1,635 mm and a width of 1,890 mm excluding mirrors, the Filante is designed to deliver strong road presence while supporting aerodynamic efficiency. Including mirrors, the width extends to 2,146 mm, optimizing visibility and driving confidence in urban and highway conditions.
Renault will offer the Filante in three trim levels designed for different customer profiles:
Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover Powertrain and Transmission
The Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover is powered by a sophisticated hybrid drivetrain combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine with two electric motors. The combustion engine alone delivers 150 ps and 250 Nm of torque, while the full hybrid system produces a combined output of 250 ps and up to 565 Nm of total torque.
This power is delivered through Renault’s dedicated Multimode Auto transmission, engineered specifically for hybrid vehicles. The system integrates:
This configuration enables seamless transitions between electric, hybrid, and combustion drive modes, optimizing efficiency and performance across varying driving conditions.
Dual-Motor Hybrid Architecture
The main traction motor in the Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover generates 100 kW and 320 Nm of torque, providing strong electric drive capability. A secondary 60 kW high-voltage starter-generator (HSG) delivers 180 Nm and is responsible for starting the internal combustion engine and recharging the battery.
Energy is stored in a 1.64 kWh lithium-ion battery operating at 316 volts. The battery pack consists of 86 cells divided into two modules, enabling compact packaging and efficient thermal management.
Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover Interior and Digital Systems
Inside, the Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover features a wide horizontal dashboard layout dominated by three 12.3-inch panoramic displays. These screens are integrated with a 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display that projects navigation, speed, and driver assistance information directly into the driver’s field of view.
The cabin is powered by Renault’s next-generation OpenR Panorama system, built on Android Automotive. The infotainment interface offers smartphone-like responsiveness, intuitive menus, and access to a broad range of connected services designed to enhance both driver and passenger experience.
The Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover is also equipped with more than 30 advanced driver-assistance systems, supporting safer and more relaxed driving through features such as adaptive cruise control, lane support, and automated emergency braking.
With its global production base, advanced hybrid technology, and high-end digital cockpit, the Renault Filante Hybrid Crossover represents Renault’s push to compete more aggressively in the international mid-size electrified SUV segment.
