VinFast Electric Motorcycles Indonesia Assembly Plans For 2027

VinFast electric motorcycles Indonesia operations are set to enter a new manufacturing phase as the company plans to start assembling electric motorcycles in Indonesia from 2027. The production will take place at a completely knocked down (CKD) facility located in Subang, West Java. Currently, all electric motorcycles offered by VinFast in Indonesia are imported as completely built-up (CBU) units, according to the company’s Indonesia E-Motorcycle CEO.

The company is also strengthening its sales presence in Indonesia by opening 20 official electric motorcycle dealerships between July 19 and 25. The expanded retail network will cover major cities including Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Medan, Palembang, and Makassar. This dealership expansion is aimed at improving customer accessibility while supporting the wider adoption of electric motorcycles in the Indonesian market.

VinFast showcased its Evo, Feliz II, and Viper electric motorcycle models during an event in Jakarta. These models feature battery-swapping capability, providing customers with additional flexibility compared with conventional charging methods. Early bookings for the three battery-swapping electric motorcycles started in May, allowing buyers to select either a purchase option with batteries included or a battery subscription model.

The upcoming local assembly strategy represents VinFast’s broader effort to increase its presence in Indonesia’s growing electric mobility sector. By combining local CKD production, dealership expansion, and flexible battery ownership options, the company aims to create a stronger electric motorcycle ecosystem.
