- Talbros Automotive Lohum CarbonTech Joint Venture advances sustainable material manufacturing.
- Recovered carbon black production targets circular economy opportunities.
Talbros Automotive Components Limited and Lohum Cleantech Private Limited have entered into a joint venture agreement on July 2 to establish Lohum Talbros CarbonTech Private Limited. The newly incorporated company will focus on trading, manufacturing, producing, and refining recovered Carbon Black (rCB), devulcanized rubber, and allied by-products. Under the agreed ownership structure, Lohum Cleantech will hold a 51% stake while Talbros Automotive Components Limited will own the remaining 49%. The joint venture has been incorporated with an initial paid-up equity capital of INR 100 thousand.
The collaboration brings together Lohum Cleantech's expertise and proprietary capabilities in recovered carbon black and devulcanized rubber production with Talbros Automotive Components Limited's established relationships across original equipment manufacturers and broader market access. By combining technical know-how with a strong customer network, the partners aim to support the growing demand for sustainable raw materials used in automotive and industrial applications across India.
Recovered carbon black is produced by processing end-of-life tyres and serves as a sustainable alternative to virgin carbon black. The material is widely used in the production of rubber products and plastics, helping manufacturers reduce dependence on conventional raw materials while promoting resource recovery. Devulcanized rubber generated through the process can also be reused in manufacturing applications, contributing to improved material circularity and waste reduction.
According to the agreement, the joint venture has been incorporated but has not yet commenced commercial operations. Future activities will include the trading, manufacturing, production, and refining of recovered carbon black, devulcanized rubber, and associated by-products as the company prepares to begin business operations.
