Suzuki Opens Third Biogas Plant in India

On August 26, 2026, Suzuki Motor Corporation and its wholly owned Indian subsidiary, Suzuki R&D Center India, opened the Banas Suzuki Biogas Plant in Vinchhivadi, Gujarat. The facility is Suzuki’s third biogas plant in India, following the Agthala facility, which opened in December 2025, and the Bhukhala plant, which opened in January 2026. Plant Capacity Supports CNG Mobility

The Banas Suzuki Biogas Plant covers approximately 34,000 square meters and can process up to 100 tonnes of cow dung per day. Suzuki expects the facility to produce about 1.5 tonnes of biogas daily, with the output sufficient to fuel approximately 850 CNG vehicles. The plant is part of Suzuki’s agreement to build nine biogas plants across India, indicating a broader strategy to expand locally produced alternative fuel resources.
