Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) reached a 10.5% share, followed by gas-powered vehicles at 4.0% and diesel models at 2.8%. Combined BEV and PHEV registrations exceeded the share achieved by gasoline-powered passenger cars during the month.

Auto+ Incentive Program Expected to Support Electrification

ANFAC commented, “While HEVs continued to account for nearly half of the market, BEVs and PHEVs together represented one-quarter of registrations, exceeding gasoline vehicles. The full implementation of Auto+, an electrified vehicle purchase incentive program, could further accelerate vehicle renewal and electrification.” The Auto+ program applies retroactively to purchases made from January 1, 2026. Its regulatory framework was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) during July, bringing the incentive program closer to accepting applications.
