- Nio July deliveries 2026 favored two premium SUVs.
- Higher-priced models are improving Nio’s financial position.
Nio July deliveries 2026 became increasingly concentrated in 2 large premium sport utility vehicles (SUVs), with the ES8 and ES9 accounting for a substantial share of both the main Nio brand and the broader company total. The 2 models delivered a combined 16,603 units in July, representing 83% of the main Nio brand's 20,008 deliveries and 46% of Nio Inc's overall 35,934 deliveries. The figures are based on China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), highlighting how strongly the latest premium SUVs are shaping the company's monthly delivery mix.
The ES8 was the main contributor to that concentration, reaching 10,288 deliveries in July and moving back above the 10,000-unit monthly level. Its volume increased 14.7% from 8,969 units in June. Nio had previously disclosed 10,286 ES8 deliveries on Weibo, creating a minor 2-unit difference from the CPCA figure. The July rebound was driven by the newly introduced 5-seat version, which launched on July 9 and began deliveries the following day. The faster availability of that configuration helped release previously pent-up demand for the premium SUV.
The 5-seat ES8 starts at 382,800 yuan ($56,390) including the battery pack, making it 5.9% less expensive than the 3-row version. Under Nio's BaaS (battery as a service) plan, its starting price falls to 274,800 yuan. The ES9, meanwhile, delivered 6,315 units in July, a 26.5% decline from 8,595 units in June. The executive flagship had launched on May 27 with a starting price of 498,000 yuan. Although ES9 monthly deliveries declined sequentially, the model continued to show a strong early sales trajectory.

|---|---|
| May | 3,108 |

The ES9 reached its 20,000th delivery on August 8, only 73 days after initial deliveries began. Higher-spec versions currently carry a waiting time of 13 to 14 weeks. The performance of the 2 newer SUVs contrasts sharply with the contraction across several older Nio models. The ES6 SUV delivered 875 units in July, down 28% from June, while the EC6 reached 356 units. The delivery mix therefore shows a clear shift toward the newer premium SUV products, while established models are contributing substantially less volume than they did in earlier periods.

The ES6's historical monthly figures show the scale of that change. It delivered 8,112 units in July 2024, 3,359 in July 2025 and only 875 in July 2026. The sedan lineup was also weak in July. The ET5 Touring delivered 1,561 units, while the ET5 reached 508. The flagship ET7 recorded 5 deliveries and the EC7 recorded 2, while ES7 deliveries fell to zero. This broad weakness among older and sedan models reinforces the importance of the ES8 and ES9 to the main Nio brand's current delivery performance.

Its monthly delivery history shows 89 units in March 2025, followed by 810 in April, 682 in May, 307 in June and 85 in July, while 2026 volumes moved from 59 in January and 64 in February to 72 in March, 128 in April, 155 in May, 125 in June and 98 in July. These figures indicate that the high-end sedan has yet to match the delivery momentum generated by the newest SUV products.

Nio's Onvo sub-brand delivered 10,155 units in July, down 13.5% from June. Within that total, the L90 SUV delivered 4,949 units, increasing 43% month-on-month, while the L80 reached 3,232 and the L60 fell to 1,974. The L90's July performance was particularly notable because its volume rose from 3,461 units in June. Across the Onvo range, the results show that SUV demand remains important beyond the main Nio brand. Exports, however, remained limited at 92 units in July, compared with 72 units in June.

Higher-priced models are also helping improve the company's financial position. The main Nio brand recorded an average transaction price of 434,600 yuan in July, which corresponds to about 8.7 billion yuan in revenue when calculated from delivery volume. Deutsche Bank expects Nio to achieve non-GAAP break-even in the second quarter, with a greater contribution from higher-margin models supporting that outlook. The financial benefit of premium-model concentration therefore extends beyond unit deliveries, although the company is simultaneously facing higher input costs that could pressure margins if they cannot be offset.
Founder, chairman and CEO William Li said on July 10 that rising raw-material prices had increased the cost of each ES8 by nearly 20,000 yuan. He said the company was working with supply-chain partners to offset part of the increase while keeping prices stable. For the first 7 months of the year, cumulative ES8 deliveries reached 88,947 units, more than 20 times the level of a year earlier. Nio Inc delivered 227,057 vehicles during the period, representing 68% year-on-year growth. The results underline the central role of the newer SUVs in the company's current volume and financial trajectory.
Frequently Asked Questions
What drove the company's July delivery concentration?
The July results show that newer premium SUVs have become the strongest volume drivers within Nio's current product mix. The ES8 and ES9 together delivered 16,603 units, accounting for 83% of the main brand's 20,008 deliveries. The ES8 crossed 10,000 units again, helped by demand for its new 5-seat version, while the ES9 maintained a strong early delivery pace despite a month-on-month decline. At the same time, older SUVs and several sedans recorded much lower volumes, increasing the company's dependence on the newer SUV portfolio.
How are premium models affecting financial performance?
Nio's July results indicate that premium models can support both vehicle volumes and the company's financial position, although rising input costs remain a risk. The main brand's average transaction price reached 434,600 yuan, and higher-margin models are expected to support progress toward non-GAAP break-even. However, William Li said higher raw-material prices had raised the cost of each ES8 by nearly 20,000 yuan. Nio is working with supply-chain partners to offset some of that increase while attempting to keep customer prices stable.
