According to BMW AG, the next-generation BMW X5 will be introduced in the Chinese market in 2027 with both internal combustion engine and battery electric vehicle variants. The new SUV adopts the company’s Neue Klasse design language and features a China-exclusive 3,165 mm wheelbase. The model focuses on a seamless exterior appearance, enhanced passenger comfort, advanced drivetrain options, and intelligent vehicle technologies designed specifically for evolving premium vehicle expectations in China.

The next-generation BMW X5 lineup will receive the upgraded xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system as standard equipment across variants. This technology improves vehicle stability, off-road capability, and performance in challenging driving conditions. The ICE version of the BMW iX5 uses the fourth-generation 3.0T B58 inline-six engine, delivering 294 kW maximum power and 580 Nm peak torque. Compared with the previous version, power output increases by 5%, while peak torque improves by 11.5%, enabling 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 5.3 seconds.

The battery electric variant of the BMW iX5 introduces an 800 V high-voltage architecture, sixth-generation eDrive technology, and large cylindrical battery cells.
