- National Auto Parts Digital Platform strengthens Nigeria manufacturing ecosystem.
- Digital supplier database enhances localization and investor confidence.
Efforts to strengthen Nigeria's automotive manufacturing ecosystem gained momentum after the launch of plans for the Nigeria National Auto Parts Digital Platform. On July 10, the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) met with the Automotive Local Content Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (ALCMAN) and representatives of Heija Industrial Group from China to discuss the initiative. The proposed platform is intended to support industry growth through better digital integration and collaboration.
The proposed digital platform will function as a centralized database for Nigerian automotive component manufacturers and suppliers. By consolidating industry information into a single system, it is expected to improve data availability, strengthen localization efforts, and help curb the circulation of counterfeit spare parts. The platform is also designed to provide reliable market intelligence for investors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), enabling better business decisions while supporting the long-term development of the domestic automotive supply chain.
NADDC stated that the initiative aligns with its broader objective of expanding local component manufacturing through technology transfer and strategic partnerships. According to the council, more than 4,500 Chinese automotive manufacturers have expressed interest in participating in the platform. Their involvement is expected to create additional opportunities for collaboration between Nigerian and Chinese automotive businesses while supporting the growth of a stronger and more competitive local manufacturing ecosystem.
