Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd has achieved unicorn status after raising about Rs 322 crore in a funding round led by global investment firm Lightrock, taking the company valuation to Rs 10,822 crore approximately US$1.24 billion. The company said its last-mile mobility business has achieved significant growth, with electric three-wheeler sales increasing six-fold over the past four years. Mahindra recorded an 85% year-on-year increase in volumes during the first quarter of financial year 2027. The business became the first electric commercial vehicle manufacturer in India to cross cumulative sales of 100,000 electric three-wheelers during financial year 2026. The company currently maintains around 40% market share in the L5 electric three-wheeler segment.

Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Anish Shah said the partnership with Lightrock represents a major milestone for the last-mile mobility initiative and highlights the growth potential of the business. He added that the participation of Lightrock alongside IFC and IJF helped MLMML achieve unicorn status in the electric vehicle market while supporting the objective of deploying 1 million EVs on Indian roads by 2031.
Rajesh Jejurikar, executive director and CEO of the Auto and Farm Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra, said the investment reinforces the company's leadership position in electric commercial vehicles. He noted that the business holds around 40% market share in the L5 segment and operates in a market where electrification increased from 12% to 40% within two years. Mahindra also stated that it has remained India's No.1 electric commercial vehicle manufacturer for the fourth consecutive year.
