Li Auto Automated Charging Station Goes Live with Li AD Max Support

Li Auto has released its Second-Quarter Supercharging Report, highlighting the commercial launch of the industry's first fully automated charging station with automated charging available at every charging space in China. The newly operational facility in Beijing currently supports the all-new Li L9 and demonstrates a fully automated charging experience that minimizes driver involvement throughout the entire charging process.

Using the automated charging station, drivers can navigate directly to the site, allow the vehicle to park automatically in an available charging space, and begin charging without leaving the vehicle. The system automatically connects the charging gun, completes the charging session, disconnects the charger, and enables the vehicle to drive away after charging is finished. The complete workflow eliminates the need for users to manually plug in or unplug the charging connector.

Li Auto also confirmed that vehicles equipped with Li AD Max will gain compatibility with the automated charging station through an over-the-air (OTA) software update planned for the third quarter. The update is expected to extend automated charging functionality to eligible vehicles, allowing users to experience the end-to-end charging process with minimal driver intervention while maintaining the same operational workflow demonstrated at the Beijing facility.

According to the report, as of June 15, 2026, Li Auto had deployed more than 5,000 5C superchargers across the country and operated more than 600 all-5C supercharging stations. The company also reported that its charging network has cumulatively delivered more than 1 billion kWh of electricity, reflecting continued expansion of its high-power charging infrastructure throughout China.

Beyond urban deployment, the company's expressway supercharging network now covers more than 160 expressways, extending across over 100,000 km of highway routes. This expanding infrastructure is designed to improve long-distance electric vehicle travel by increasing access to high-speed charging services and supporting broader nationwide coverage for compatible Li Auto models.
