iCaur V23 CKD Malaysia Assembly Begins with AWD EV Deliveries

Chery has started local completely knocked down (CKD) assembly of the iCaur V23 electric vehicle at its Chery Corporate Malaysia manufacturing facility in Shah Alam. The production milestone follows the launch of the locally assembled CKD iCaur 03 in May 2026 and represents the company's continued expansion of its local manufacturing operations. Customer deliveries of the locally assembled model are scheduled to begin before the end of July, allowing buyers in Malaysia to receive the new electric SUV within the same month.

The locally assembled iCaur V23 is currently available exclusively in the Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (iWD) variant. It carries a retail price of MYR 132,780, excluding insurance, making it approximately MYR 200 less expensive than the imported version after road tax adjustments. Aside from the pricing difference resulting from local assembly, the vehicle continues to offer the same overall equipment package and specifications that were previously available on the fully imported model.

The electric SUV uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 211 PS (155 kW) and 292 Nm of torque. Energy is supplied by an 81.76 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack, delivering a claimed driving range of 430 km under the NEDC testing cycle. The vehicle also records an energy consumption figure of 22 kWh per 100 km, reflecting its efficiency rating under the published test standard.

The iCaur V23 supports DC fast charging at up to 104 kW, enabling the battery to recharge from 20% to 80% in approximately 42 minutes. For regular charging, the vehicle also accepts AC charging at up to 6.6 kW.
