- Honda introduces E-Clutch technology on the NX500 adventure touring motorcycle in India.
- The updated NX500 combines touring comfort with electronic clutch assistance and advanced rider features.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the new Honda NX500 equipped with E-Clutch technology in the Indian market. The updated adventure touring motorcycle has been priced at ₹7,43,900 ex-showroom across India, with bookings starting from May 11, 2026, through Honda BigWing dealerships. The introduction of the electronic clutch management system marks the company’s effort to improve rider convenience during daily commuting and long-distance touring while maintaining the familiar engagement of a conventional manual transmission motorcycle.
The newly introduced E-Clutch system electronically controls clutch engagement during starts, gear shifts and stops. This reduces the requirement for continuous manual clutch operation, particularly in heavy traffic situations and extended touring rides. Riders also retain the flexibility to manually operate the clutch whenever needed, allowing a balance between automated convenience and traditional riding control. Honda stated that the system has been designed to improve rider comfort without compromising the hands-on riding experience expected from performance-oriented motorcycles.
Commenting on the launch, Tsutsumu Otani, President & CEO of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said the E-Clutch technology is intended to enhance comfort and control across both urban and touring environments in India. According to the company, the technology aims to reduce rider fatigue during prolonged rides and congested city traffic conditions while preserving the engaging riding characteristics associated with manual motorcycles.
