On September 1, Ford Transit City production began at Jiangling Motors' Xiaolan Plant in Nanchang, China, with the first batch of 1,000 units scheduled for shipment to international markets. The program was developed by Ford Pro specifically for modern urban logistics, with engineering and compliance considerations aligned with mature-market expectations. Three Body Styles for Commercial Applications

The electric commercial vehicle is offered in three body styles: L1H1 van, L2H2 van and Chassis Cab. The compact L1H1 van provides a payload of up to 1,085 kg, while the larger-capacity L2H2 van increases maximum payload to 1,275 kg. The Chassis Cab configuration is designed to support various conversions, allowing businesses to adapt the vehicle for different commercial applications. This range of configurations gives fleet operators options for urban logistics requirements with different payload and vehicle-body needs. The three body styles are part of the model's strategy to address practical requirements across commercial use cases.

Battery, Range and Charging Specifications

All versions use a 56 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack and a 110 kW front-mounted electric motor, with a maximum driving range of up to 254 km. The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 4.5 hours using an 11 kW AC charger. With 87 kW DC fast charging, the same 10% to 80% charging operation takes approximately 33 minutes. The system can also add about 50 km of range in 10 minutes through DC fast charging, providing a faster charging option for commercial operators that need to minimize vehicle downtime during urban logistics operations.
