- Falcon Energy Materials Morocco CSPG Pilot Plant officially begins operations.
- Morocco facility supports battery customer qualification and workforce training.
Falcon Energy Materials plc officially opened its pilot plant near Casablanca, Morocco, on July 9. The facility is designed to manufacture qualification-scale CSPG (high-purity coated spheronized purified graphite) samples for prospective customers and represents the first natural graphite CSPG pilot facility in Morocco. The new operation marks an important step in the company's strategy to expand battery material processing capabilities while supporting customer qualification activities using premium natural graphite feedstock obtained from Africa.
Pilot Plant to Produce Qualification-Scale CSPG Samples
The pilot plant is scheduled to begin producing qualification-scale CSPG samples during the summer of 2026. These materials will be supplied to potential customers for technical evaluation, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and battery producers. Besides supporting customer qualification, the facility will collect operating and process design information that will help optimize future large-scale production while validating manufacturing processes under real operating conditions.
Supporting Future Commercial Anode Production
Data generated through pilot plant operations will contribute to the design and development of the proposed commercial-scale 25,000-tonnes-per-annum anode plant. In addition to process validation, the facility will be used for workforce training to prepare personnel for commercial manufacturing. By combining sample production, operational testing, and employee development at a single location, the company aims to strengthen readiness for future expansion of its battery materials business.
