South Korean battery materials manufacturer Eco & Dream announced on July 30 that it has launched Eco & Solid, a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to developing and commercializing sulfide-based solid electrolytes, one of the essential materials required for next-generation all-solid-state batteries. The new company has been established to strengthen technology development while supporting future commercialization efforts in this rapidly evolving battery segment. Based in South Korea, the initiative reflects the company's strategy to enhance its position in advanced battery materials.
Eco & Solid will build an integrated research and development system that spans the complete value chain of sulfide-based solid electrolyte production. Its work will include the development of synthesis and purification technologies for lithium sulfide (Li₂S), which serves as the primary raw material for sulfide-based solid electrolytes. In addition, the subsidiary will focus on electrolyte composition design, material synthesis, pilot-scale validation, and the development of manufacturing processes suitable for future mass production.
