On August 10, Cornish Lithium secured grant funding of GBP 7.2 million through the United Kingdom Government’s DRIVE35 program to part-fund a GBP 14.5 million programme of drilling and testing. The funding will enable the company to drill two 2,000-metre production wells and operate a Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) demonstration plant at Cross Lanes, while also supporting an appraisal well at the adjacent Baldhu site to confirm the existence of additional lithium resources.

The programme will advance the assessment of the technical and economic viability of commercial production at the Cross Lanes Geothermal Lithium Project and enable further appraisal drilling at Baldhu, near Truro. The planned drilling and testing activities are intended to provide additional technical information on the project and support evaluation of its potential for commercial lithium production.
