BMW Group India achieved its strongest-ever first-half performance in the country by delivering 9,075 BMW and MINI vehicles between January and June 2026, representing a 17 per cent year-on-year increase. The company also maintained identical growth during the April to June quarter, when deliveries reached 4,507 units. Strong customer demand for electric vehicles, sports activity vehicles and long-wheelbase models supported this performance, while the company also confirmed an extensive product expansion strategy with several additional launches planned before the close of 2026.
Electric Vehicle Demand Strengthens During H1 2026
BMW Group India delivered 2,359 battery electric vehicles during the first six months of 2026, marking a 78 per cent increase compared with the same period last year. Electric models represented 26 per cent of the company's passenger vehicle deliveries, indicating that approximately one out of every four vehicles sold was fully electric. The company also stated that it maintained a 69 per cent share of the luxury electric vehicle market in India, reinforcing its position in the premium EV segment.
Long-Wheelbase Models and SUVs Continue to Lead Sales
Long-wheelbase vehicles remained a major contributor to overall sales performance. During H1 2026, the company delivered 4,428 long-wheelbase models, reflecting a 24 per cent year-on-year increase. These vehicles represented 52 per cent of total passenger vehicle volumes. Sports Activity Vehicles, including BMW and MINI SUVs, also delivered strong results with sales reaching 5,926 units, up 35 per cent compared with the previous year. SUVs accounted for 65 per cent of the company's passenger vehicle deliveries during the reporting period.

MINI and Motorrad Register Positive Momentum
MINI recorded sales of 504 vehicles during the first half of 2026, representing 70 per cent year-on-year growth. The recently launched MINI Countryman C contributed significantly, while the Countryman remained the brand's best-selling model. The company also confirmed that every MINI special edition introduced this year had sold out. Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad delivered 2,327 motorcycles during H1 2026. Popular imported motorcycles above 500 cc included the S 1000 RR, F 900 GS/GSA and R 1300 GS/GSA, while deliveries of the new F 450 GS commenced at the end of June with the initial allocation fully booked.
Product Expansion and Retail Network Growth
BMW Group India introduced 11 new products during the first half of 2026, including the BMW X3 30d, M440i, X6 M60i, MINI Countryman C, F 450 GS and M 1000 R. The company plans to launch another 14 products across its BMW, MINI and Motorrad brands before year-end. In addition to expanding its portfolio, the company currently operates 100 retail touchpoints across 40 cities and intends to establish 19 additional outlets in 18 cities during 2026 under its Retail.NEXT expansion strategy.
