Avore Electric EX marks the company’s entry into the electric motorcycle segment with its first production model launched in Ahmedabad. The motorcycle starts at ₹1,24,999 ex-showroom and is offered in three variants: EX 2S, EX 2 and EX 1. Bookings opened on the launch day at ₹799, while showroom operations are expected to begin next month and deliveries are planned to start two months later. The launch represents Avore Electric’s attempt to compete in the premium commuter electric motorcycle category.

Range, Performance And Charging Specifications Of EX Variants

The EX 2S delivers an IDC certified range of 260 km, while the EX 2 offers 255 km and the EX 1 provides 160 km range. The EX 2S reaches a top speed of 114 km/h, whereas the other two variants achieve 100 km/h. All models use a rare-earth-free permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 7.5 kW to 10.5 kW depending on the variant, with 250 Nm peak wheel torque available across the complete EX range.

Each Avore EX variant is equipped with a 1500W onboard charger compatible with standard 5A and 15A household sockets. The battery pack requires around two hours for a 20 to 80 percent charge cycle and approximately four hours for a full charge. The battery pack has been homologated by NATRAX, while the battery management system has been validated by ICAT. Both systems receive coverage for five years or 60,000 km, although Avore has not disclosed a complete vehicle warranty.

According to founder Priyank Rakholiya, the motorcycle is targeted at customers upgrading from 125cc to 200cc petrol commuter motorcycles. The company aims to provide electric performance while remaining competitive against established internal combustion engine alternatives.

On an ex-showroom basis, the EX is positioned slightly above the Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, which are priced between ₹1.16 lakh and ₹1.19 lakh. In Maharashtra, petrol motorcycles in this segment attract 11 percent road tax, while electric vehicles receive exemptions. This difference can create savings of approximately ₹13,000 on models such as the Pulsar N160 and improve the road-price competitiveness of electric motorcycles.

Electric vehicles represented 8.1 percent of the 95.5 lakh two-wheelers registered in India between January and May this year. Industry estimates indicate that scooters and mopeds contribute nearly 89 percent of electric two-wheeler sales, leaving motorcycles as an emerging opportunity. The Avore EX enters this developing segment by focusing on higher range, motorcycle styling and technology-driven features aimed at customers seeking alternatives to conventional petrol commuters.

In-House Technology Development And Manufacturing Strategy

Avore states that it developed nine vehicle systems internally over three years, including the battery management system, motor, controller, charger and operating system. The company has filed more than 120 intellectual property applications and completed development without external funding. Battery cells are sourced externally as they are not manufactured in India, while motor assembly is performed through an Indian partner. The company believes internal engineering control helps maintain product quality and consistency.

Priyank Rakholiya explained that avoiding early funding allowed the company additional time for testing before market introduction. According to the company, the product was ready nine months before launch, and those months were used for validation activities. This approach reflects Avore’s focus on product reliability rather than rapid expansion during the initial market phase.

Avore has finalized 15 dealerships across Gujarat and Maharashtra while evaluating an additional 65 dealership enquiries. The company plans to expand into southern states and Delhi within three months. Each dealership will include a service workshop supported by technicians trained internally by Avore. The company states that internal training is necessary because its vehicle systems were developed in-house and require specialized technical understanding.

The Chhatral manufacturing facility in Gujarat covers 150,000 sq ft and has installed capacity for producing 15,000 electric two-wheelers per month. However, the company has stated that maximum production volume is not the immediate objective. The initial priority is stabilizing the product, strengthening service capability and building customer confidence in the electric motorcycle ecosystem.
