On August 10, the Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Investment received Board approval for a further investment of up to INR 5 billion in its wholly owned subsidiary, Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited, through loans, equity or other modes. The additional approval comes on top of an existing INR 20 billion approval for establishing gigafactories/plants. The subsidiary is being developed as part of the group’s gigafactory programme in Telangana, supporting its plans for lithium-ion cell and related battery technology development and manufacturing.
The Board also approved a further investment of up to INR 500 million in its other wholly owned subsidiary, Amara Raja Power Systems Limited, through one or more tranches. This is over and above the existing approval of INR 500 million and is intended to support additional operational and manufacturing requirements. Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited, while Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Private Limited focuses on lithium-ion cells and related battery technologies.
